Sounds simple, right? It is simple, but sometimes, it’s not easy. Increasing awareness takes time, attention, and practice.  

As humans we are sometimes working against our biology. The part of us that is only concerned with our survival. But as you know, life is more than just getting through the day.  That said, sometimes just getting through the day is enough.  If, however, you are looking to expand and improve your days cultivating greater awareness can help. 

You might wonder how this could be?  How could awareness change things?  Well, we don’t know what we don’t know. And we are all doing the best we can. If we aren’t satisfied with the way things are going, we can build our awareness to initiate the changes that we seek.  When we know better, we do better.

What is happening in the life that brought you here? Curiosity about what mindfulness is?  Looking for a mindfulness class to help relieve stress, anxiety or pain? A system for changing unhealthy habits?  Or maybe a meditation to help calm your nervous system?  

Mindfulness is more than navel-gazing.  Mindfulness is not the same as meditation.  Mindfulness is a compassionate, non-judgmental awareness that is available when you pay attention in a specific way.  Meditation is a tool for cultivating that ability.

Mindfulness practices help you to awaken to who you really are.  They help you to uncover and discard beliefs and behavior patterns that no longer serve your health and wellbeing.

Mindfulness helps heal deep emotional wounds so you can rediscover strength, courage, and confidence to live a healthier, more fulfilling life. Healing is a process. One that is often a lifelong journey.  Start with the tools you need to continue to awaken and grow.

I'm Cheryl Mills, Coach & Teacher Specializing in Mindfulness

I am passionate about helping people create lives that are engaged, fulfilling, and happy.

The awareness that arose when I made the connection between my misery and its cause – my reaction to a lifetime of emotional abuse, was the start of my healing journey and return to wholeness. When I was finally able to see my own situation clearly, I stepped out of victimhood, depression, and self-doubt to take control of my own happiness and life direction. 

I support people who are struggling with the aftermath of traumatic or difficult life experiences that can result in self-destructive behaviors, pain, stress, anxiety, and fear. With mindfulness, they can awaken to their innate strengths, gifts, and abilities to heal their lives.

All of our lives include pain, but we don’t have to suffer.

We all go through storms throughout our lives. Some of the storms are big ones, some are small ones.  When they occur, they change us.  The key to living more fully is to learn to adjust to the change instead of resist it.   

Embracing the new normal involves seeing things differently; an ability to see them more clearly. That’s where mindfulness comes in.  Learning to live in the present is the best way to improve how things appear after the storm and to be happy again.
